Strength through tradition.

Partners in Development Foundation inspires and equips families and communities for success and service, using timeless Native Hawaiian values and traditions. They offer a range of community programs spanning education, social services, environmental initiatives and the preservation of Hawaiian language. To reflect their diverse offerings they sought an identity that effectively captures the essence of their work.

Kalo (taro) leaves in Hawaiian culture is a very sacred plant with varieties used for healing purposes. The Hawaiian terminology for family, ‘ohana, is derived from a part of the kalo called ‘oha. A logo was developed showing the two kalo leaves embracing one another, symbolizing support and comfort through challenging times.
