NOAA Inouye Regional Center Exhibit

Keeping close to nature’s heart.

NOAA aimed to demonstrate the global impact of their science-based work, safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of millions of people every day. Their objective was to create an exhibit showcasing their expertise in stewardship, sustainable fisheries, weather and climate change, and the preservation of coastal marine habitats.

The exhibition needed to appeal to a wide range of visitors, from elementary students to anyone interested in the environment.

The exhibit design embraced the Pacific Region and Hawaiian Culture while presenting universally relevant information. Each display was crafted using ‘ōhi‘a wood, a distinctive material from Hawai‘i, and incorporated historic Hawaiian patterns and textures. By blending cultural design elements with clear typography and captivating photos, the exhibition became an enduring source of information and visually appealing for years to come.
