Hawai‘i State DOH Tobacco Use Prevention and Control in Hawai‘i Report
Let’s clear the air.
The State of Hawai‘i, Department of Health wanted to approach this project in a way that did not result in a standard, tedious and mundane government document. Not only did the report have to appeal to State officials and lawmakers, but also to multi-levels of social ecological models that represent individual, interpersonal, organizational, community, and society influences.
The use of bright imagery and warm content helped this report to be engaging and thought provoking. The Hawaiian cultural design elements incorporated throughout the report highlights how deeply rooted smoking resonates within the Hawai‘i community. The embossed design on the cover directly relates to the importance of having clean air to breathe.
